Client: Cape Peninsula University of Technology (2006)
The CPUT required a production training facility for the University's radio journalism students. Working hand in hand with the teaching staff we were able to design a purpose built facility that was flexible, user friendly and built to handle a constantly changing stream of users.
A system was designed with a recording room and control room linked to a number editing terminals. Pieces are recorded in the recording room to the control room terminal and then passed on the the individual editing terminals for editing and mastering. This allows many students to work simultaneously. Each editing terminal is equipped with connections to accept field recorders and other outboard equipment.
Digidesign ProTools is used for training by the CPUT and each terminal is equipped with an Mbox interface and ProTools 7 software.
